Know These Things When Going For A Spray Tan

Posted on

Tanning at a tanning salon is a great way for you to get the coverage that you want while also protecting yourself from the dangers that come with tanning naturally. When you visit a tanning salon for a spray tan, there are things to know ahead of time that will help you be better prepared for the experience and help you to get the best results possible.

Do not wear makeup

When you go in to get a spray tan, you are going to want to make sure you allow the spray to properly cover your body. In order for this to happen, you aren't going to want anything else, such as foundation or blush, to get in the way of your full coverage.

Do not wear bandages or patches

Another thing that will prevent the spray tan from being properly applied to your skin is the presence of something on your skin. For example, a band-aid, injury wrap, or nicotine patch will prevent the spray from being applied to the areas where these things are present on your skin. This will result in you having a tan everywhere else that was properly covered but light areas where the bandages or patches were covering the skin.

Show as much skin as possible

When you go in for a spray tan, you are going to want to make sure you have the spray tan applied to every part of your body possible. This way, you will know that you will have a complete tan in all your swimming suits and outfits and even when you are nude. If you wish, you can wear a thong, but do know that you will still end up with lighter lines where the thong covers areas of your skin.

Know what you want

When you go to a tanning salon, they need to understand what it is you want to achieve with your spray tan. Therefore, you are going to want to go in knowing how dark you want to go. You may do best by looking online for some examples of the shade of tan you want. Print those pictures out and take them with you. Do note that the appearance of your tan may still vary from the pictures due to the natural coloring variations people have. For example, some people have a more olive complexion, while others can have a more pink complexion.
